Adair County Connections is online directory of county-specific resources, developed in partnership with the local branch of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Our mission is to make vital information about low-cost and low-income services more readily available and accessible to the local people and residing students. Visit the site at: www.adaircountyconnections.com

The ACC project entails:

  • Designing, building, and developing a WordPress website from scratch
  • Optimize user interface, appearance, and function of website
  • Compiling and entering information from non-profits and organizations in the area to build an extensive database
  • Reaching out and communicating with locals over social media (Facebook) to advertise and determine which resources are most needed or are most difficult to find

Though many Truman students are aware of the climate change issue, Truman still has a long way to go to reduce its carbon footprint. Through the work of ESFAC I hope to see Truman become a leader in renewable energy and in reducing waste on college campuses. Each member of the committee will be responsible for brainstorming and researching environmental projects for Truman. Personally, I would also like to raise awareness among the student body about the urgency of climate change, encouraging them to take initiative to reduce their own carbon footprint as well as send us ideas on how the university can shrink its footprint.
